Which of us doesn’t feel a nostalgic tug when we come across toys from our childhood. Whether it is Lego or Barbie dolls or those boxed compendiums of games that always came out at Christmas, ludo, snakes and ladders and tiddlywinks. Wooden jigsaws, dolls houses, boxes of bricks, construction sets, Meccano, model cars, tinplate toys and teddies, we usually have a good selection. Packs of cards and card games are always popular and we have chess sets, draughts, dominoes and cribbage boards. We try to keep a selection of board games including Monopoly and Scrabble. Sewing machines, spinning wheels and looms appear from time to time and musical instruments often come our way. All are pre-loved but nonetheless fun for that.

Our range of books covers sport, military history, crafts, and music, amongst other things. There is a smattering of travel books, the odd cookery book and a few ‘holiday’ reads. We have vintage annuals, and often have The Observer Series of guides and Ladybird originals when we can get them.
